Last weekend, I went to Shibuya with my kids and a friend’s family.
Shibuya is famous for its bustling intersections, but for us, it was just a day trip.
We visited a few popular spots inside Parco and spent a few leisurely hours there with the kids.
Shibuya with Kids – Is It Possible?
As you know, Shibuya is always crowded and is a place geared toward adults. We were a little nervous about taking our young children there, so we made them promise to always hold our hands while walking and not to wander off on their own.
In addition, since there aren’t many restaurants where we can have lunch with children, we made a reservation at the “Kura Sushi” near the station. We chose a conveyor-belt sushi restaurant because the kids can eat whatever they like, and since it’s a chain, the prices aren’t too high.

This is the famous Shibuya Scramble Crossing. On this day, too, there were crowds of pedestrians, as well as people taking souvenir photos.
Pokémon Center Shibuya
The Pokémon Center was filled with merchandise celebrating Pokémon’s 30th anniversary. And since new items are released every time I visit, both my child and I find ourselves wanting everything.

Nintendo TOKYO

Since my child has recently become obsessed with the Super Mario series, we also went to Nintendo Tokyo. In addition to Super Mario, there was a wide variety of merchandise for other Nintendo games, such as “Animal Crossing” and “Kirby.”

Of course, these shops weren’t just for children; there were adults there as well, and, naturally, tourists from all over the world were visiting.
It was too crowded to browse the merchandise leisurely with the kids, but since this isn’t the kind of place we visit every weekend, we took the opportunity to carefully consider our purchases to our heart’s content.
Showcasing Our Loot: What Did We Buy?

We bought an Eevee headband, a Leafeon hand towel, and some cookies that can be decorated with chocolate for our child. We actually wanted to buy a lot more things, but it was so crowded that we couldn’t find where they were on the shelves.
It’s not that far from home, but the crowds were so overwhelming that I ended up feeling exhausted. If you’re visiting as a tourist, I’d recommend going in the morning when it’s less crowded.
