What Can You Buy in Japan for $5?
In my previous post, I introduced some matcha-flavored desserts you can buy at convenience stores. This time, I’d like to introduce some chocolate desserts I also bought at a convenience store. Do you all like chocolate?
What I Bought
Once again, I bought it at FamilyMart, which has the green and blue logo.
The Dessert Itself
チョコレートパフェ（Chocolate Parfait）
The chocolate parfait featured a generous dollop of chocolate-flavored cream atop coffee-flavored jelly. Did you wonder if coffee jelly could actually taste good? Well, it actually blends perfectly with the cream and is absolutely delicious.
カスタードエクレア（Custard Éclair）
The chocolate-covered éclair was filled with a generous amount of custard cream. It wasn’t as sweet as it looked; instead, the sweetness balanced perfectly with the chocolate’s bitterness, making it a flavor suited for adults.
チョコクリームたい焼き（Chocolate-filled taiyaki）
This is a twist on “taiyaki,” a traditional Japanese sweet: While traditional taiyaki is filled with red bean paste, this one I bought at a convenience store was filled with chocolate cream.
